We are fortunate to have several places in the United States where you can go to venerate the relics of St. Francis of Assisi, a much beloved and popular Saint, year round.

St. Anthony’s Chapel , Pittsburgh, PA – Over 5000 relics available for public veneration- the largest in the world (the Vatican has the largest private collection) and includes a relic of St. Francis of Assisi
In addition to the relics available for veneration, one of the special opportunities that pilgrims have in the United States is at the National Shrine of St. Francis of Assisi in San Francisco, CA which has a scaled replica of St. Francis’s Porziuncola in Assis, Italy, the Benedictine Chapel he restored when God told him, “rebuild my church.” Pilgrims can obtain a plenary indulgence under the normal conditions for visits to the National Shrine of St. Francis of Assisi on October 4 (the solemnity of St. Francis of Assisi, principal co-patron of the Archdiocese of San Francisco) and visits to the Shrine of the Porziuncola, Our Lady of the Angels on August 2nd each year (within the Porziuncola itself), and once a year on a day chosen by the Christian faithful and as often as they assist in a group pilgrimage visiting The National Shrine of St. Francis of Assisi or the Shrine of Porziuncola. There are also a couple one-time opportunities to venerate his relics for his feast day on October 4, 2016.

- October 4-5, 2016 – First Class Relic of St. Francis of Assisi, The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, La Crosse, WI,available for public veneration after 12:15 Mass
