The forearm of St. Jude, reported to be the largest relic of an Apostle outside of Rome will be visiting St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Simi Valley, California January 11-13, 2016. There will be a healing Mass each day at 7pm followed by an opportunity to venerate the relic.
If you’re not able to see the relic in Simi Valley, all is not lost. The relic permanently resides at the Dominican Shrine of St. Jude in Chicago, Illinois and is featured on our list of pilgrimage sites by state. The relic, encased in a silver reliquary, was presented to the shrine in 1949 for the 20th anniversary of the shrine’s dedication to St. Jude. It holds a place of honor and is on display for veneration by the public along with three smaller relics of the Saint. Make sure to call or check the website before you go to ensure that the relic will be available and isn’t traveling.
